Eiichi Kite (木手英一 Kite Eiichi), also known as Kiteretsu (キテレツ), is a 10-year-old 5th grader boy who lives in Tokyo city, he's the titular character of the show.
Appearance[]
In the 1987 special, he wore clothes that look similar to Nobita Nobi with the only difference being the addition of a visor which has the letter "K".
In the anime series he now wears a light blue T-shirt, white underpants and dark blue pants. He also wears green shoes, white socks and a red-yellow themed visor.
Personality and interests[]
He is an excellent kid who is best at studies but only weak in sports. He is a prodigy in inventing machines. He reads his encyclopedia and invents gadgets from the past. He can even repair normal machines and invent variations of the gadgets. Because of his mechanical attitude, he commands respect from his friends.
Relationships[]
Michiko Kite[]
His mother is strict whenever it comes to studying. Most of the time he invents things, he hides from his mom. Overall he loves his mom.
Eitaro Kite[]
Unlike Michiko, he likes Eiichi's inventions. Like Michiko, Eiichi loves his dad.
Korosuke Kite[]
His first invention and best friend, while Korosuke can be naïve and dumb at times, they like each other and are always there for each other.
Kiteretsu Saisama[]
The grandfather of Eiichi, they meet whenever Kite and his friends go to the past. His name is where his child's name comes from.
Miyoko Nonohana[]
There are some instances where they are shown to be married, notable examples are the various intros. They are best friends.
Buta-gorila[]
They are frenemies.But Buta-gorilla always rushes to kiterertsu for seeking his help.

Trivia[]
- When the show would be localised, he would be known as Nobita's "smarter" cousin however it has not been confirmed officially if he is the "smarter" cousin of Nobita.
- They do however appear together in "Doraemon and Kiteretsu Daihyakka: Korosuke's first approach" along with Doraemon which is a short released way after the original show ended in 1996.
